A Wake-Up Call for the Muslim Ummah
In a time when the blessed land of Palestine is soaked with the blood of innocent Muslims, and Masjid Al-Aqsa, the first Qiblah of Islam, is under constant threat, the disunity among Muslims is our greatest weakness. While Yahood (Jews) and Nasara (Christians) have allied in political and military agendas, why we can’t unite for Palestine, the Muslim Ummah remains fragmented by sectarianism (firqa war) — Shia, Sunni, Deobandi, Barelvi, Ahl-e-Hadith, and others.
But the Qur’an and Hadith are clear: this is not the time for division. It is time to unite and stand firm for our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
1️⃣ The Blood of Gaza Is a Shared Pain
Every day, Palestinian mothers bury their children with trembling hands and tearful eyes. The destruction of homes, hospitals, and mosques by the Zionist regime is not a Shia or Sunni issue; it’s a Muslim issue that touches every believer’s heart.
The believers are but one brotherhood, so make peace between your brothers. And be mindful of Allah so you may be shown mercy.

Palestinians are not asking whether we’re Sunni or Shia, they’re asking:
“Will the Ummah stand with us? Will you feel our pain as your own?”
If we stay divided today, we fail the very bond of brotherhood that the Qur’an commands us to uphold.
2️⃣ Qur’anic Warning: Don’t Take Yahood & Nasara as Allies
Many Muslim nations seek peace treaties and economic deals with Zionist-controlled states, but the Qur’an strongly warns against this:
O believers! Take neither Jews nor Christians as guardians—they are guardians of each other. Whoever does so will be counted as one of them. Surely, Allah does not guide the people who do wrong.
This clear verse leaves no room for ambiguity. The enemy is united — why aren’t we?
3️⃣ Hadith Proof: The Ummah Is One Body
At a time when innocent lives are being taken in Palestine, and the cries of oppressed children echo across the globe, we must revisit the words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He didn’t just describe the Ummah with metaphor he gave us a living, breathing image of what true Muslim unity should feel like.
“The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.”
📘 Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2586
Gaza is bleeding. Palestine is in fever. Yet we remain in our silos of sectarian pride.
This is not Islam, this is our collective failure as an Ummah.
4️⃣ Sectarian Division: A Tool of the Enemy
The enemies of Islam use divide-and-rule to weaken us. Our sectarian debates play into their strategy. A divided Ummah cannot liberate Al-Aqsa.
Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not dispute with one another, or you would be discouraged and weakened. Persevere! Surely Allah is with those who persevere.
(Surah Al-Anfal, 8:46)
Let’s not hand our strength to the Zionists by fighting over fiqh differences. The real battle is not between Muslims — it’s against injustice.
5️⃣The Salahuddin Strategy: Unity Before Liberation
Salahuddin Ayyubi (RA) did not reclaim Al-Quds by mere emotional slogans or political games; he began with the hardest yet most essential task: uniting the Muslim ranks. He brought together Sunni and Shia, Arabs and Kurds, scholars and warriors, under the single cause of liberating Palestine from Crusader occupation.
It was not theology, but the concept of tawheed of purpose, that made his mission successful.
Today, we don’t need louder sectarian voices; we need leaders and believers with the Salahuddin mindset: those who put Ummah over identity, liberation over labels, and Al-Aqsa over ego. Victory will never come to a divided house. Palestine will only be freed when we stand as one Ummah, just as Salahuddin taught us through his legacy.
6️⃣ Islamic Rulings on Helping the Oppressed
When injustice spreads and the cries of the oppressed reach the skies, a true Muslim doesn’t stay silent; he stands up, speaks out, and acts. In Islam, helping the oppressed is not a gesture of charity; it is a divine duty that directly reflects the strength of one’s Imaan.
O believers! Do not violate Allah’s rituals ˹of pilgrimage˺, the sacred months, the sacrificial animals, the ˹offerings decorated with˺ garlands, nor those ˹pilgrims˺ on their way to the Sacred House seeking their Lord’s bounty and pleasure. When the pilgrimage has ended, you are allowed to hunt. Do not let the hatred of a people who once barred you from the Sacred Mosque provoke you to transgress. Cooperate in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is severe in punishment.
📖 Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:2)
Supporting Palestine is not optional, it’s a fard (obligation) on every Muslim who believes in justice, mercy, and the unity of the Ummah.
7️⃣ What Every Muslim Can Do for Palestine
The Ummah’s strength lies not only in prayer but also in action. Here are 10 practical and essential ways we can support Palestine today, not tomorrow.
🔹 Stop Sectarian Arguments — End useless debates online and offline. Unity starts with silence over division.
🔹 Teach Children About Al-Aqsa — Educate the next generation about the importance of Masjid Al-Aqsa and the truth of the Palestinian cause.
🔹 Donate to Verified Palestinian Relief Charities — Support organizations that provide food, water, and medical care directly to Gaza.
🔹 Boycott Zionist-Supporting Brands — Choose alternatives to companies that openly fund or support the occupation.
🔹 Raise Awareness in Masajid & Schools — Encourage imams and teachers to talk about Palestine regularly, especially during khutbahs.
🔹 Use Social Media to Share Facts — Become a voice for the voiceless by sharing real stories, statistics, and Qur’anic guidance.
🔹 Write to Local Leaders & Politicians — Demand that your government stop supporting genocide and call for a ceasefire.
🔹 Support Palestinian Creators & Media — Follow and amplify the voices of Palestinians who are documenting their reality.
🔹 Join Peaceful Protests & Public Rallies — Show up in your city. Numbers matter when demanding justice.
🔹 Make Du‘a Daily — Never underestimate the power of sincere supplication for our brothers and sisters in struggle.
8️⃣ The Cost of Delay: Al-Aqsa May Be Next
Every minute we argue over sectarian divisions is a minute lost in the sacred struggle for Al-Quds (Jerusalem), the land of the Prophets, the gateway of Mi‘raj, and the soul of Muslim unity.
Glory be to the One Who took His servant ˹Muḥammad˺ by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He alone is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
📖 Surah Al-Isra (17:1)
Masjid Al-Aqsa is not just a Palestinian issue. It is not their land, it is our legacy, entrusted to this Ummah by Allah Himself. Yet while enemies scheme day and night to desecrate it, many Muslims are busy debating madhabs and maslaks.
We must ask ourselves:
Are we prepared to face Allah when He asks,
“What did you do for Al-Aqsa while it was under attack?”
If we don’t act now, history will not be kind, and the next generation may only know Al-Aqsa from books and ruins.
Let’s not be remembered as the Ummah that watched in silence while its sanctities were destroyed.
✅ Conclusion: Unite or Be Forgotten by History
The blood of Gaza, the cries from Al-Aqsa, and the silence of the Ummah’s history are watching. This is not a time for sectarian debates, but for spiritual awakening and unified action. If we fail to stand together today, we fail not only Palestine, we fail Islam. Let us rise above our labels and divisions, and act as one body, one voice, one Ummah before it’s too late. Because Al-Aqsa won’t wait, and neither will Allah’s judgment.
